How To: An Easy Bedroom Refresh

It can be so hard on us to be surrounded by the same walls, all day everyday. It can become mundane, boring, and frustrating. You may go through highs and lows. We, as humans, aren't used to this type of social distancing, self-isolating lifestyle. Whether you are a homebody (like me) or a social butterfly, being able to get out and enjoy your surroundings is so beneficial to our wellbeing. But, since flattening the curve and staying home is the most important thing we can all do as a society, why not bring some beauty in?

There are so many ways you can bring beauty into your home - new furniture, decor, or paint colors. No matter what your budget is, there's always a way to bring joy back into your space.

For instance, is your bedroom feeling a bit..blah? Your bedroom should be a space you can escape to. It should be a space you love being in and allows you to let go of all the days worries. It should be your sanctuary, especially with stay at home orders.

Here are some easy ways to spruce up your bedroom and make it a space you love being in.

Adding a fresh coat of paint will completely transform the look and mood of your room. Try painting your walls a crisp white or a really soft grey. This will turn your room into refreshing bright and airy space. Or are you more into dark and moody? Paint your walls a beautiful Navy!

Bedding + Pillows + Curtains

Changing your bedding, pillows, and curtains is one of the easiest ways to spruce up your bedroom. It can be your pop of color and add depth and texture to your space. If you want neutral bedding, bring in a pop of color with your pillows and curtains. No matter what you choose, make sure it's something you want to curl up in!

Adding greenery, whether real or faux, will bring in a beautiful pop of color and help bring the outside in. Greenery also adds a sense of peacefulness to any space. It's a simple addition that will make a big impact. Have an empty corner? Add a tree. Not sure how to style a nightstand? Add a small plant with a lamp and candle.

Art + Decor

Changing up your art and decor can make a big impact on your space. It brings in new beauty, texture, color, and depth. If you enjoy having personal photos in your bedroom, add a gallery wall full of pictures that make you happy. Art is very personal - some people like landscape photography and others enjoy looking at abstract art. Whatever it is, make sure it speaks to you.

Round mirrors, oversized full length mirrors, or mirrors with a decorative frame. Whatever style you like, it will add so much character to your space. Mirrors are not only beautiful, but extremely practical for everyday use. The reflective qualities of a mirror will also help make a room feel larger and brighter.
